The General Overseer of Praise God Revival Ministry, Enerhen Bishop Ajokpaoghene Okijenu, has made a passionate appeal to President Bola Tinubu to prioritize the revival of the ailing sea ports in Delta State.

Speaking during a review of activities in the state and nation, Bishop Okijenu emphasized the need for the federal government to focus on the Niger Delta region, citing the President’s campaign promises.

According to the Bishop, the current administration needs to compensate the region for its support by revitalizing institutions such as the sea ports, adding, “the President should fulfill his campaign promises. Revamping the sea ports in Delta State would create much-needed job opportunities for the youths in the state.”

Speaking on the current state of the sea ports, Bishop Okijenu lamented that they’re not in good shape. He urged President Tinubu to reposition these critical infrastructures to create jobs and channel the energies of youths into meaningful ventures.

Bishop Okijenu praised the efforts of Delta State Governor, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for making lasting impacts across the three Senatorial Districts.

He prayed for more vision for the Governor, saying the state is blessed with resources and individuals in various spheres of life.

The “Boldest Bishop of West Africa” as he is known called on top personalities in the state to join forces with the Governor in addressing the challenges facing unemployed Deltans. He emphasized that Delta State is rich in resources and that it’s time to put these resources to good use.

Bishop Okijenu also encouraged community leaders to play their part in contributing to the state’s development, rather than leaving everything to the Governor, adding, “we must work together to put Delta State on the right track.”

The Bishop’s appeal highlights the plight of the Niger Delta region, which has long struggled with underdevelopment despite being the hub of Nigeria’s oil industry. It’s hoped that President Tinubu will heed the call and prioritize the region’s development.

The Bishop said that the people of Delta State and indeed the entire Niger Delta region are watching, waiting for tangible actions from the federal government, adding, “will President Tinubu deliver on his campaign promises. We are anxiously waiting?
