The suspended Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Edo State, Rt. Hon. Samson Osagie has been reinstated after 37 day off his duties, this follow intervention by high placed individuals across the state and the report of the Investigative Panel that exonerate him.
Edo state Governor, Monday Okpebholo, had in February suspended Osagie due to alleged financial infractions and set up an investigative panel to look into the issue
In a letter conveying the reinstatement, the Secretary to Edo State Government, Umar Ikhilor, said, “Having considered the report of the Investigative Panel set up by Government to investigate allegations of financial infractions reported against you, which has exonerated you from the said allegations, I write to convey the directive of the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo that you resume duties as the State Hon.Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice with effect from 12th March, 2025.”
In his response, Osagie commended the governor for his sincerity of purpose, “I appreciate his sincerity of purpose and vision for the state, this is a clear indication that His Excellence, Sen. Monday Okpebholo means well for the state and I use this medium to reiterate my commitment and loyalty to him and his administration.
“I remain committed to joining him to ensure that Edo State recovered all lost ground and take the stage to where it should be.”
It was however gathered that Osagie was given a soft landing in order to save his professional carrier and to enable him attain his desire hight in his profession.
