Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Monday, urged Nigerians to continue living in unity and harmony, stressing that only sustainable peace could guarantee meaningful development across the nation.
Governor Oborevwori made the call when he received on a courtesy call, the internationally- renowned Jewish Christian Gospel Preacher, Rabbi Kirt Schneider at Government House, Asaba.
While highlighting the strong partnership between the state government and faith-based organisations, the Governor lauded Rabbi Schneider for his commitment to evangelism and for winning souls for Christ.
According to him, “today is another testament to the strong partnership between our government and faith -based organisations.
“Here in Delta State, so many great men of God have come to this state and, as a Christian and an Elder in the Living Faith Church, we welcome any person that comes to pray and bless this state.
“We are grateful for your presence and the vital work that you do in fostering unity in the body of Christ by promoting peace and spiritual growth in our nation.
“Your dedication to spreading the message of love and hope in our nation is a beacon of light in this challenging time. We know that your Ministry has saved thousands of souls with testimonies.
“So, your coming here to Delta State is also a blessing to us. We thank you for your prayers for me and this land for us to continue to succeed and have peace.
“It is only through peace that meaningful development can strive in Delta State and Nigeria and I know that your coming to Delta State will bring us more blessings in Jesus’ name.
“We also believe that, by working together, we will overcome the challenges that we face. I thank you for your dedication to the spiritual well-being of our people.”
Earlier, Rabbi Kirt Schneider, said he was in the state for a soul- winning crusade and to also pray for the revival of Nigeria and the black continent.
Rabbi Schneider, who chronicled how he had an encounter with Jesus over four decades ago, said he had been able to preach the gospel of Christ in over 200 countries of the world due to his personal relationship with Christ.
The International gospel preacher poured encomiums on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for putting God first in the administration of the state and prayed to God to give him the enabling grace to remain in faith.
Rabbi Schneider reminded all of the need to maintain an intimate relationship with God, whom, he said, had the cure for all challenges of humanity.
Highlight of the visit was special prayers for the state and its leaders across board.
